Experimental Printmaking with Artist Sarah Godfrey
6th & 7th June 2026 10.30 - 4pm
Cost £195 includes refreshments & all materials.
Sarah is a contemporary printmaker who loves experimenting with different printmaking techniques, layering marks, textures and shape to create expressive and varied original prints.
In this workshop she will share her experience and passion for printmaking so you gain an understanding of the process with a playful and relaxed approach.
On the first day trying out and exploring different techniques and on the second day combining the techniques
learnt to produce layered textured print designs.
Including,
- Monoprinting from found objects such as dried leaves, lace and textured paper.
- Monotype which allows the printmaker to produce both painterly and drawn marks.
- Collagraph printmaking in which a print is taken from a collage.
- Working with stencils to create shape and composition.
- Printing using intaglio methods, which means you can print the marks made into the plate.
- Relief printing meaning you print the surface of the plate that is left behind.
Everything you learn you will be able to easily re-create at home with no need for expensive specialist equipment.
Please bring along an apron, something to take your prints home in and a notepad/pen in case you would like to take notes.
