March 2nd - Japanese Book Binding - £45

Join Hannah Barker from the Small Print Company for a three hour workshop in which you will learn the ancient Japanese craft of stab binding. After choosing a beautiful decorative paper, you will learn how to construct an A5, hard backed book, using the stab binding sewing technique to hold the pages and covers together.

Your decorative book will make the perfect journal or sketchbook, holding treasured photos or written memories. At the end of the session you will be able to take away the skills and book that you have made.

 All materials and resources are provided, so you don’t need to bring anything!

 Suitable for children also, 12 years onwards.

9th March - Creative Writing Workshop - £55

Join Poet Charlotte Lunn for a creative writing workshop at the gallery!

During the course of the day, you will learn more about literary techniques and poetic form to inspire your own poetry. This will be broken up by prompts to encourage free writing. 

The work created in the session will be shared amongst the group to invoke feedback and personal growth. The aims of this workshop: To have fun, rid yourself of writer's block, familiarise yourself with a discipline in poetry and to come away with something that can be developed further. 

Suitable for all levels of writers and previous workshop participants.

Suitable for aged 16 years+.

15th March - Poetry Critique Workshop - £35

Join Poet Charlotte Lunn for a poetry critique workshop at the gallery!

This workshop will involve a close look at individual poems in order to offer more thorough feedback for improvement. 

Poems (one poem per person) will be sent prior to the session to Charlotte via email. The deadline for sending poems is Sunday 10th March at 5pm.

Each poet will share their work in the session. The prepared feedback will be discussed and others in the group will be encouraged to offer constructive criticism.
