We will also be selling the pieces of work via our live stream on 30th August from 8pm - 9pm on our social media platforms - Instagram and Facebook. And once the show has opened the online shop here on the gallery website will go live - expected launch date for online sales is 2nd September.
All profits made from the show will be go directly to the gallery for it’s future development and 15% will be donated to the arts charity ‘Arts Emergency’.
The exhibition works on so many levels and provides an opportunity for all involved.
Artists to show their work in a contemporary art gallery, and to know that they are supporting the future of the gallery/an arts charity.
Art collectors - a show where all of the work is affordable and accessible to all - regardless of who the piece of work was created by. In 2018 a young boy had saved his pocket money to purchase a piece of work - much to the bemusement of his parents. A future art collector/Artist? Who knows?
Arts Emergency - a percentage of the profit made from the show is donated to this charity - which supports talented, and disadvantaged, creatives and artists via mentoring to access education and employment within the arts sector.
The Old Lock Up Gallery - the support that we receive from the artists and postcard collectors, during the show, enables us to continue to develop the gallery and remain open during the Winter months. We are small independent contemporary art gallery in a rural setting, developing a successful art gallery, single handedly takes time.
Exhibiting Artists - Heartfelt thanks to all of the artists who have donated pieces of work: such an incredible response! Exhibiting Artists will be announced here on the website once the show has opened. If you’d like to know if your piece of work has sold we will be posting images of sold pieces of work on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter Feeds as they sell - search for ‘The Old Lock Up Gallery’.
